It's been about a year since I started blogging!!
How official and celebratory is that? I started posting on my regular schedule April 16th. I was going to celebrate on the day a stranger first commented on my blog (that's you, Becky!) which would be in July, but that is too late for me to mail something to someone, since I plan to do it in June when I'm in Hamerica (that's what Greg calls it, so I do sometimes, too. I doesn't mean anything besides America).
So there you have it. I love blogging. I love keeping up with family and friends and I really love the new friends I've made. I love that I can write whatever I want, even though I sometimes feel bad because it's not worth reading for others, but I want to write it anyway. So I do. I have stayed true to myself in this blogging world, though, and that's what counts (to me). That and the friendships I've made and getting really amazing insights, information, stories and laughs from you all.
I really appreciate you guys a lot. I would like to be rich and just send a package to everyone I'm friends with through blogging. Maybe next year. . .
So what am I giving Away? you might ask. I'm not really sure! Now race to enter the giveAway, everyone!! :)
I'm giving Away Polish stuff. I have a suspision that it will be mostly food but I'll be sure to include some other Polish stuff, such as things that they have in Poland that aren't food.
To enter, just leave a comment on this post. I'll choose a winner on Saturday (and mail the stuff, as I said, in June, sorry!). And I hope it's YOU! (meaning, no need to spread the word. Let's keep this in the family (plus people who chance upon it, you're invited too, of course!), unless you know someone who's crazy about Polish stuff or something, then you can share.)

Now to COMPLETELY change the subject for a minute. I need to vent a little. About Breaking Dawn. I know I'm extremely late to that party, but here I am. **might be spoilers ahead**
I'm not the type to get worked up over a story or to be too critical, or generally to get all involved, so that's not what this is about. I just really need an answer to a question I keep having. I am about 3/4 of the way through the book. The vampires are gathering. So they can "witness" to the Volturi. Because hopefully seeing all the vampires there will make them stop for just long enough to listen. It's not very likely, though. Everyone will surely die.
WHY ON EARTH DOESN'T SOMEONE, LIKE, SAY, BELLA, WHO IS IMMUNE TO ALL THEIR TRICKS, GO TO ITALY AND TALK TO THEM? She was planning on going, anyway. They aren't coming to Forks for A FREAKIN' MONTH. If all that is needed is to explain what Renesmee is, why are we waiting for them to get in battle formation FOR A MONTH (and why on earth do they keep talking about a month as if it's SUCH a short time? Do the Volturi really have that much to pack? Maybe it is a short amount of time if it's all you've got left to live, but it's also PLENTY of time for 85 smart vampires to go on the offense. Be serious.)
I have read a little bit further and I know that they're suspecting that it's not about Renesmee but any excuse to carry out their evil plot, but still. Why this gaping hole? Or is it not gaping. Or not even a hole? Please SOMEONE ENLIGHTEN ME.
Despite this and a number of other smacking my hand to my forehead moments, I'm actually enjoying this book some. (thanks for sending it, Su!)

Congratulations on one year of blogging! My blogiversary is May 24th, but I'll be away on vacation the week before. This doesn't stop me from writing a post ahead of time— as well as posts for that week I'm away which talk about the birth of my blog.
Congrats on the year mark! WAHOO!!! I am glad you found me, I always look forward to your posts!
Congratulation on the one year mark! I love reading about your life in Poland.
I like "in the know" giveaways! I'm surprised you've only been blogging for a year - I must have started reading you fairly soon after you started blogging at all. I'm glad you exist here in the blogosphere - it's good to get some international church point of views (not that that's the only thing I like about your blogging. The gratuitous comments on my Saga posts make me very happy. Never stop them.)
As far as the whole plot hole in Braking Dawn, I can't help you there. I myself thought it was rather odd, but there you go.
I'm not commenting, because I'm on a break, but I gotta enter your drawing, of course. :D
As for BD, that's not even one of the larger plot holes. Just wait until you see the battle royale. *snicker*
I won't tell you what part cracked me up the most, because it would ruin the joy you'll have laughing at it yourself when you get there.
Ooh-I want Polish stuff!
And I'm jealous you're reading Breaking Dawn for the first time. I'm always sad when I finish a book, cuz then I never get to look forward to the end anymore. I know-that's totally weird. As far as the plot...I couldn't be irritated by that cuz all my irritation energy was spent on the fact that the child's name is Renesmee! What?!
That being said-I still a devoted Twilight series fan:)
It has been an awesome year! I love reading your posts.
I have already forgot most of the details of the Twilight series. I guess I could go back and read them and it would be like new.
I love your blog. I really love your view of the world and your writing. Thanks for sharing with us!
And about BD...seriously, that book totally jumped the shark. So much to find wrong about it. Not that I even liked the first three...
Happy one year! Please count me in :)
Have a beautiful and sunny day today!
Happy Bloggaversary, luv! It's been a great year!
Happy Anniversary! I think I celebrate my blogiversary right around the time you come to Hamerica.
Congratulations! Happy, happy day! I had to look to see when my anniversary is, and would you believe it, I'm coming up on two years AND 200 posts at about the same time! I'm going to have to think of something truly spectacular .... in the meantime, I know a certain 9 year old who would love to get her hands on some Polish stuff, since she has shared her pen pal with her class, and would love to have something tangibly ethnic to show them as well!
(So do I get bonus points for knowing someone crazy about Polish stuff? 'Cause I think Emma counts!)
yeah... I never finished Breaking Dawn... I got kinda bored with it.
and Congratulations!
Happy Blogaversary!
Breaking Dawn...yeah, wasn't that impressed.
I missed my blogaversary! I think it was in February. I actually can't believe it's been that long--hurray for keeping up with my kids' memories! :)
Anyway, I am like one of the other commenters and I barely remember the details of a book not long after I read it. So no help to you. I liked the whole series though, despite the flaws. I even like the ending, even though others were disappointed in it. But I have to agree with those who think Renesmee is a RIDICULOUS name.
Consider me entered.
And so happy to have "met" you here.
And I have no idea what you're talking about with Breaking Dawn. I quit the series 1/4 of the way through the second book. I just couldn't get into it. I know, call me crazy.
Howdy - I'd love to win!
Breaking Dawn. Ugh. Why didn't she go to Italy? Why did she name her kid Renesme? Why on earth did the end just fizzle in some diplomatic resolve and not some fantastic life threatening fight? Why were 12 year olds in my ward reading sex scenes written by an LDS author?
Still, a year later I felt the need to rant about this. Sorry.
Sorry - after she named the kid Renesmee I stopped taking anything seriously... seriously.
One year is awesome - you rock!
Oooooooh, oooh, I must enter a Polish giveaway!! Seeing as I just started having a huge desire for Polish things....like right this second....or a few seconds ago when I read that's what the prize would be.
And that whole book.....yeah. I have a like/hate relationship with it.
CONGRATS ON THE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!!
I would comment on BD but I'll be tortured and burned at the stake. =P
Congrats! You started just before I did! But you are way better at it than I am...
You know, you can send me anything you want and then I will send you some of the pinto beans! HaHa. Quid pro quo Lisa. (or however it is spelled)Congrats on the year anniversary. :)
April is a big month to start blogs. My one year anniversary is coming up this weekend--and Charrette, too! Can't wait for that Polish food (b/c, it's clear that I'm going to win, right?) (I'll miss reading your blog while I'm away--it'll be a whole week! Nuts!)
Congrats on your bloggy anniversary. You're an awesome blogger, in fact maybe the most awesomest in the whole blogosphere. (I'm not above kissing up to get some cool Polish stuff!)
Happy Birthday Away from it All....I enjoy your blog, I enjoy hearing about your life in Poland and I actually have a girl and boy doll from Poland that I purchased from a neighbor...they are in my granddaughter's room along with her Russian doll, China doll and Italian doll. We are so international.
Fingers cross! Hope I win.
Renesmee is the worst name ever.
Stephanie Myer is good at one thing; exploiting the tension that comes from unfulfilled desire. She's terrible at the vampire politics and dramatic show downs, but that's not why we read the books so it doesn't matter.
Congratulations on a year! I'm not quite there yet so I'm in awe of those who are.
I just wanted you to know I love reading your posts, even though I lurk a bit. I also wanted you to know my daughter's 2nd grade studied Poland for their International Festival and I've been thinking of your family nonstop as I sewed her little costume and she learned lots of random Poland things.
Free Polich Stuff??!! I'm so in!
The first time I found your blog..I would love to see some real polish stuff!
We have plenty of cool Polish stuff from a very cool Polish family already. And I've already tasted the highly nutritious MILK chocolate they serve children :) But I must say, people who hate Bella and her choices probably hate me too! Most especially the name Renesmee for both their moms. I really wanted to name Tyra Marilynda for both our moms, Marilyn and Linda! (Only reason we didn't is that I felt very little enthusiasm for the name from the grandmas when I mentioned it to them)
As for plot problems, yeah, it drove me crazy. But I like a lot of things about how some things are resolved. We'll have to talk about it sometime when we're not both crazy busy...
