Actually, I'm really no good at practical jokes and the only April fools prank I ever remember playing was when a roommate and I dipped cotton balls in chocolate and delivered them to our friends in the neighborhood as homemade chocolates. Greg still hates me for that. (He's pretty sensitive about what goes into his mouth. . .)
I haven't done anything today, nor will I, but last year I pulled a prank not on April first. And it worked out pretty well. Or pretty terribly, depending on how you look at it. If you want to read about it you can go here, and its pretty easy to see how bad I felt about it by what I wrote.

Very funny! I am new here! Came over from Heather's! Love your blog! I can't wait to hear what kind of pranks my daughter tries on me today!
You have such a great sense of humor! How did I miss the July 08 post back when you originally posted it? I must not have known you then. Anyway, so fun to find a post from you written on on Wednesday! Off to get caught up on Tuesdays posts . . .sigh
Thanks for reminding me of that funny email. I need to think up some kind of prank.... the chocolate cotton is hilarious, but I think I would be hesitant to waste all that chocolate!
The cottonball idea is awesome. My kids would never suspect. The only problem is that I don't know that I could get myself to waste chocolate like that!
I thought it was hilarious! But I would never forgive the chocolates either! Messing with chocolate is going too far---definitely stick with writing.
Ooh...I love the chocolate cotton idea! Too funny! Now I'm off to read about your other prank.
I've never pulled a prank in my life...but I got one pulled on me today by a good friend who called in tears saying her car caught fire and that she hated Heavenly Father because of it and was leaving the church.
She was VERY convincing...until she started laughing...oi!
This is one holiday I have to admit I do not celebrate. I was the victim of a very mean, intentionally disturbing prank that caused many people to get hurt feelings and I refuse to acknowledge the day as anything worth promoting.
You'll have to read about it on my blog.
Ha! Love the cotton ball one.
Top two pranks:
My dad took all the icing out of Double Stuffed Oreos and put toothpaste in the middle.
I rubber-banded the sprayer on the kitchen sink, so when someone went to turn the sink on, they got sprayed.
I think we're boring.
I would die if I chomped into a cotton ball...
I just gagged and stuck my tongue out and shivered.
THE TEXTURE! ACK!
Oh no, good choc gone to waste!!
That's too funny!!
It sounds like your family had quite the shocker!
Most April Fools Day pranks I do are food related. I get my ideas from Family Fun.
A chocolate covered cotton ball. Hmmm.....
My husband and I got engaged on April Fool's day 22 years ago, and we actually had to show the receipt for the ring to my husband's BYU roomies. LOL
I am grateful that most adults grow out of April Fools pranks. I haven't been worried or paranoid for years now.
How did I not see that post the first time around? So funny? Oh, and mean!
For some reason I'm just not a practical joker. It's just not in me.
Happy fool's day anyway.
I love April Fool's. I used to be pretty good at pulling pranks, but my mind was completely otherwise occupied this year.
My hubby, though pulled off a terrific viral video for April Fools...you can still see it at BYUCola.com.
Oh, man! I just read that other post! That is hilarious! I'm not very good at pulling pranks. And I'm not a very good sport either when I'm on the receiving end of a prank :-)
