Books I'll Buy: (And I'm Famous by Association, Right?)

I've been saying that I want to have a special book shelf to fill with books written by bloggers I know. This, of course, will happen one day in the future when our "library" is more than a room full of stacks of papers and books (on the floor) and we actually have shelves. Here are some of the books that will be on that shelf:

My NovelMiss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind (available for pre-order) by the authoress Heidi Ashworth, who also happens to be my friend the blogger Heidi Ashworth.

As Yet Untitled Book of Funny Blog Posts being compiled by Sue (also see below), all the proceeds of which will go to the NieNie Fund. I'm confident that some of your posts will be in this book! You'll be famous!!

Is it Arrogant to Quote Yourself? Is it Arrogant to Quote Yourself? by my friend Kimberly VanderHorst who blogs at Temporary? Insanity.

All, if I can collect them, of the books by best-selling/award winning Annette Lyon including her latest, Spires of Stone. Her sixth book comes out spring 2009. And she blogs at The Lyon's Tale.

I'll be mad at myself if I've missed someone. Now here's a list of people whose books I'll one day be buying. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

My friend Melanie J of Write Stuff
My friend Alison Wonderland of -- well, that's both her name and her blog title
My follower Sue of navel gazing at its finest (just kidding--not about wanting to buy her book, though)

And now my throat hurts from all the yelling. (Please tell me who I've missed. Like do people who are doing the November writing thing plan to publish? Because then I will definitely be buying Kazzy and Brillig's books.)
**images pilfered off of these ladies blogs. I hope I'm not breaking some important law or can ate least be forgiven if I am.

I think you mentioned some great books here! I am excited to read Miss Delacourt! With my husband being an English professor, don't even get me started on stacks of books sitting around!

The thought of any of these women actually reading my blog frightens me, because I know I am not a good writer. (Although Kim has commented on mine more than once. Yikes!) They are pretty amazing, aren't they?

I bet you will be in the book! Did you submit anything?

Sometimes I think that one day I'll be the only person I know who has never written a book. You know you're going to some day, Lis!

Have you ever thought about writing a book?

Hey, I think any woman who writes a blog can write a book! And SHOULD!! We already love reading, and writing, so all that's left is the publishing and advertising and buying and retailing and signing at Costco's all across America -- make that, the world!! (Do they have a Costco in Poland? Walmart, even?)

In the meantime, you should start up a Shelfari -- (see the bottom of my blog) -- it's a great way to catalog what you're reading, and a great way to find new books to read as well!

I feel a little sheepish in all this actually "publishable" company. Oh well, I'll just stick to my pathetic blog. (Oh, WAIT, the Ensign bought two articles from me ... does that count?!? I keep waiting to see them show up in print.) I'm kind of partial to this casual, conversational writing myself, so thanks for your blog and others like it.

I visit Heidi's blog so I know she is great and has a book, but I better go check out those other ladies, too. I'm glad you included Kazzy on should publish a book list because she is a mazing. But how about you? When are you going to publish one? You are pretty amazing, too. And I'll definitely buy your book.

Thanks for letting people know about the NieNie book. I don't know if I'll ever be cool enough to be published on my OWN merit, but the NieNie book is a fun project, and I hope people will buy it.

Er, once I get it done.

Thanks for da linkies :>

Lisa, thank you! You are such a doll! I don't know if it is illegal to take the pic out of my blog but I love that you did! Thank you! I agree with you--I am really looking forward to reading the books of everyone listed, even those who haven't finished (Kazzy!)--and you too! There are a few others that you probably don't know about: a children's book You Can't Go To School Naked illustrated by the husband (Don Kilpatrick) of Never a True Aggie and the cool primary scripture book by Becky at, oh gosh, I can't remember it just now but I think I will go steal pics of their books and put them in my blog. Such a great idea! Thanks again! You made my kinda yucky day so much better. :)

Yeah, when are YOU going to publish?

When I write my book, if you buy a copy I'll autograph it for you. :)

BTW, at the rate I'm going my book should come out sometime in, oh, two thousand-never. LOL.

I'm going to write a book called, "The Worst Bathroom Book You've Ever Owned" and it's going to be 1/3 word searches where you just have to guess what words are in it, 1/3 mazes with no possible solutions, and 1/3 blank pages for doodling. It will be for those people who spend a LOT of time in the bathroom.

Whoo hoo! Thanks for being willing to buy my book! I'm going to send you a private email delineating the actual reality of that...
