Feel the Top of Your Head to Find Out If You're Me

If you have some of the same issues as me (which you don't) or you are me (which you're most likely not) then I recommend you stay out of my attic.  Strange things have been known to happen when people like me go up there.

For example, if you do go up, the same crossbeam that you duck under to get to the toddler clothes will be right there in the SAME PLACE when you carry those clothes out, ducking not quite as low as you did on the way in.  Freaky.

Also, if you go up again a couple of days later, the exact same crossbeam, for some indeterminable reason, will STILL BE IN THAT VERY SAME PLACE.  Only a psychic could foresee something like that.  Seriously.  Attics freak. me. out.

They also give me scabs on my scalp that don't go away for two weeks.  Which is nothing compared to the feeling of standing alone, laden with bags of clothes in a dim and dusty room, head throbbing, feeling a deep sense of embarrassment.  Is it even possible to feel embarrassed when you're the only one around?

It is if you have some of the same issues as me (which you don't) or you are me (which, lucky for you--and your head--you're most likely not).

Well, you're not exactly alone. The angels are watching and laughing at you.

I love Melanie's comment. Also, I love the title of her new book, especially since my husband was not my type :)

I think we've all had those moments. Mine is running into that shed beam for the umpteenth time! Stinkin' beam. ;)

Good safety tip! I bump my head plenty.

Our playroom is technically the attic. I will not tell you how many times I have nearly knocked myself out while trying to pick up toys. Which, really, is just extra reason to have the kids DO IT THEMSELVES. They are shorter than me!

I hope your head heals quickly. :)

Oh, I do believe it is possible to be embarrassed even when you are completely alone... I am prone to falling UP stairs and bumping my head, elbow, hip, anything on anything that isn't at least 2 feet away from me.

Hope your head feels better soon...
Your post made me feel better though, I'm probably THE clumsiest person around.

If I had an attic, this would be me.

As it is, I still manage to stumble, trip, and otherwise hurt myself--and I end up with wacky bruises and have no IDEA where they came from.

I am clumsy in all sorts of ways. And also had a scab on my head yesterday. Sadly, I don't even know how I got it. Yeah, I bump into THAT many things. Including my own car door. :)

Love you!

Oh no! Thankfully, we don't have an attic! Though I am quite fond of bumping my shins on everything! Those bruises stand out nicely on my pasty white legs. :)
